Tournament format: The format of the tournament is two-person teams playing four-ball. Each golfer hits her own ball throughout the round.  After each hole, the best net and gross score is recorded and counted as the scores for the team for that hole. After the round is complete the scores are added up and the total will represent the score posted by that team.  The USGA rules for four-ball are here.

You can choose your teammate or opt to be matched with a teammate.  In order to enter the tournament, you need to have a valid GHIN and current handicap.  Prizes will be awarded for the best gross and net team scores.  There will also be closest to the pin contests.

The tournament will also serve as the club qualifying round for the MGA Women's Four-Ball Championship. In order to qualify, you and your teammate must: (1) be members of the LPGA Amateurs - NYC, (2) hold a handicap with LPGA Amateurs - NYC, (3) pay an additional $30 each in cash at check-in at Bethpage, and (4) be willing to attend the MGA Sectional Qualifying Round and Championship, both of which will be held on weekdays in the fall.  Information regarding last year's event is here.

Tournament alternative: As an alternative to playing in the tournament, you can choose to be in the non-competitive division.  You do not need a handicap or teammate to play in the non-competitive division.  Players in this division will not be eligible for the prizes based on scores but will be eligible for the hole contest prizes.
